Average size of Honduran breeding females. . .also largest honduran?

Pondoris Jan 19, 2004 04:29 PM

I know that the minimum size of a breedable female honduran was address in a recent thread. My question is. . .on average, what do your females weigh when introduced to a male? Also out of curiousity, how much does your largest honduran weigh and maybe an approx length?

Thanks,
Ian

It is my humble opinion that females are bred way too young. I will not breed my females till their third spring/summer. My biggest girl is a 96 het-albino from Porras. She was 76'' and 1439 gr. out the big sleep last year. I will measure/weigh her when out again this year.

Somebody posted a minimum of 36'' and 350 gr. as a minimum. That is crazy, too many things can go wrong with such a small girl.

VIVARIUM magazine had a photo of a male Honduran that was just under eight feet.
