Another Chinese Stripe-tailed Ratsnake....Calico

Terry Cox Jan 19, 2004 06:13 PM

As it turned out, both parents were het for calico. One of five babies hatched out with the mutation and was sexed female. I've decided to raise this one up, so as to breed it in a few years. I'm hoping to get two mutations into one snake eventually. See the other mutation in the post below.

Here's my little calico female that has doubled in size before going into brumation. I'll take her out after about eight weeks to continue her growth. She's been great so far....

Nice pic. Is that using your new camera? Looks like you've got a nice project going with the Chinese Stripe-tailed rat snake Terry.

Thanks, Terry. I'm real happy with the group of t.taeniura I have. They're nice to work with and getting the mutations is fun too.

I haven't really put my new camera to work, yet. Those pics are from my old SLR, but I do have some new software I'm experimenting with too. I'll get the new camera out in the next photo shoot, but I'm not sure when 'cus everything is brumating at the moment. Spring should see a surgence of pics
