Did you read the answers to your thread below?

I don't think melamine will work well for this application.

HELLO, I DONT LIKE MELAMINE AT ALL FOR CAGES. ONE REASON IS IT DOES NOT HOLD UP WILL, IF IT HAS ANY EXPOSED WOOD AREA SUCH AS A SCRATCH, IT WILL SOAK UP WATER LIKE A SPUNGE. CAUSING IT TO SWELL AND BREAK-UP. FOR MY MONEY I GO WITH (GOOD)OAK OR WALNUT. REAL WOOD IS VERY STRONG IF BUILT RIGHT. TO BUILD A 48x24x24 IT COSTS ME ABOUT $150. AND THESE CAGES WILL LAST FOREVER. I HAVE SOME 6'x3'x2' CAGES THAT ARE REAL HEAVY STACKED UP FOUR HIGH FULLY DECORATED AND WITH LARGE SNAKES IN THEM, TRY THAT WITH MELAMINE. I WILL BE POSTING PICS OF THESE SET-UPS IN THE FUTURE.
