how much do ants cost and how hard are they 2 get in the winter

i live in the NE in pa and we have been having a cold winter how hard would it be 2 ship ants through the cold? and how much would they cost for a single horny toad?

Well if you need to get ants I know you can get some ants at Cable_Hogue's website. It can be challenging to get ants in the winter, especially if you try to get them from the wild. Sadly Horned lizards don't really cost that much, they are well underpriced at around $30 or so. You don't really need any ants during the winter, due to the fact that HL's hibernate during the winter.

i've never had ants shipped, but i'd guess that they're not easy to keep alive here in NEPA. i feed my smaller animals (including my horned toad) crickets, and even with them, just from the pet store to home, i have about a 10% mortality rate from the cold. when it gets warmer, you can certainly collect ants. but for now crickets might be your best bet.
