I'm really sorry for being a bother but I just noticed something that I find a bit funny. Well, I noticed that my Albino Pacman seems to look like a little waxy and she burried herself so I thought she was hibernating. This afternoon, I saw her soaking in her pond. I tried dangling some worms in front of her to see if she needs something to eat. She's really aggressive this time and ate 3 insects (2 meal worms and 1 worm that is in the middle of turning in to a beetle). Anyway, after that, I left her for a long time and when I came back, I noticed that the water in the pond is noticably lesser, as in the fish in the pond can't swim anymore and the frog got noticably bigger.
My question is, is my pacman trying to store water in her body for her hibernation?

I put my albino in his water dish and then came back a lil bit later and it was BONE DRY! I was thinking he splashed it all out, but it was almost completely gone. And that would have happend if he was just splashing it out. So i refiled it again, and the same thing happend.

I thought there was a leak in the bowl so i checked it but i came to the conclusion it was just him drinking it up!

Why do they do this?

theyre just drinking,thats all. they suck the water up through their skin. no hibernating,nothing,thats all. when you saw her look waxy earlier,it was basically just a dry shed on her,which she knew to go in the water to get rid of. when you see that just mist them really well,then theyll know to get the rest off. no hibernating required.

Now I wouldn't go that far. They live off instinct. If they were smart you could use plastic plants in the tank without the risk of the frogs eating them. But you would be surprised how many eat plastic plants, even when not being fed.

Not purposely. If the plant moves (even if it moves just because the frog hits the plant while digging or moving), sometimes the frog will go with its instict and bite and swallow. It happens.
