My yearlings that I haven't sexed until now are not probing the way I thought they would. One is a male that probes about 10 scales deep. The other two probe to 5-6 scales deep. I would really like to know if this is normal for females.
Thanks

No need to probe dum's. They are short tailed boas and you can really hurt them by probing, we have seen alot of dum's that have developed build up of scar tissue because of this. If they have visible spurs they are males, if they don't they are females. This is how we sex ALL of our dum's. I have never probed one. You can tell right after they are born if they are male or female by doing this!!! So just check for spurs and this will tell you.
