If you go to home depot, they have black cement mixing tubs that are bigger than that. They seem to work well

I used to keep rats in tubs like that. Then I saw this website about cage size(esp. height). I forget which university it is from. It will give you an idea how many you can keep in what size tub. Don't keep the max though, or when the pups arrive they will be overcrowed.

The tubs many of us use are cement or motar mixing tubs. they are black plastic, are very tuff, and have no edges on the inside for the rats to start chewing on.

thanks guys
been seaching for them in hareware stores, but they dont seem to have them ,unless i want a 4ft bath lol,
demak got lost on that link,

looks like i ll have to use them tubs mentioned oh there 7in and not 6in as i first said.

well i was thinking maybe 1.2 would be ok in there ?
and remove the babies by 4 weeks to grow on or food as i proberly gonna need all sizes

so if i have 1.2 in each and with 10 -12 tubs how many can i expect to breed on a monthly bases?

Not too sure on the size of trays you want but if you go to http://www.livefood.co.uk/forum/ and get in touch with "Evil Elvis" AKA Barry Summerhays.
I know that he breeds rats on a biggish scale (20-30 trays of rats) so he should be able to point you in the right direction.

Good Luck
Peter
