Congrats! these are very nice tanks. I got one for christmas, and 150 dollars for everything i need for the vivarium. let me know what you do, i could use some ideas
I'm starting construction today
I have plans to use the weldbond / silicone method for the background. As for plants so far I know i want a staghorn fern, tropical pitcher plants and some miniture broms. One tank will be for mantellas and the other for a pair of tincs.
nepenthes (tropical pitcher plants) may not do well in a vivarium, since they require very good drainage, and they like a very airy, open soil. they would love the high humidity though, but the chances of a dart frog falling in the pitcher and drowning are a little high, since the lip of the pitcher could prevent it from getting out... if you get a nepenthes i would get a small one like nepenthes gracilis, the pitchers on them would be too small for a frog to climb in
I have plans to put planters in the foam of my backgrond and plant the pitchers in there. Ive done some research and there are a coupel that souldnt cause any of the frogs danger. I hope that this will work.
