Stonewashed Pastel...

Debra Dillon Jan 20, 2004 10:32 AM

This was produced by Stan Ruppel and is one of the nicest Pastels that we own. We will be breeding him later this year, or in 2005.

The pick of the littler stayed with Stan......its the snake in the bottom left of the pic....my male is in the top right of the pic....

These are some very cool pastels......they have a very washed out look to them.......hence the name.....and its very hard to capture their rich colors on camera.....

Man oh man.

The supers on these will be nuts! I know everyone has opinions on pastels....so here is mine. I personally love Blushing...Blushing...Blushing and even more Blushing. Sure I love the retained bright yellow, but I'd rather have a slightly browned out pastel with monster blushing than a bright yellow with solid back sections. Anyway....these pastels have monster blushing. Good stuff!

Thanks

we heard alot of negative comments about these Pastels, but I tell you what after you see that image of the clutch Stan produced you know there's someting a bit different about his line of Pastels.

Thanks for the image, and we can't wait to see what you produce this year.

I called him as soon as i saw the ad to get one....I tried to get the male in the lower left corner of the pic....but Stan was a wise man and held on to him.....shucks.....so i went for the next best one he produced.....he had a very odd head coloration...and i swear he looked like a super as a baby..

Here is a head shot of him......

Mine is the one in the lower right corner. I bred him to 7 females and should have quite a few for sale this spring

black. Are there any super stonewashed yet?
A super stone washed to a hypo would make a vey clean snake.Low black and be left with yellow and pink. Add azanthic to that mix and it could be a pink colored green eyed snake.
Who has the Stonewashed and what is the price range?

This is a male pastel breeder of mine. I love the blushing on this animal and absolutely cannont wait for supers from this line. This animal is an import new bloodline. I have him on breeder loan right now with a friend. He is a breeding machine! 11 girls so far and we are very hopefull.

Except for your snake, I've noticed that the 'stonewashed' pastels generally have a granite looking pattern. I've seen some granite patterns passing to offspring, so could it be the addition of that gene (a second variation) that gives them the faded appearence?
Just curious. Thanks!
