how to feed veggies

hey all,
i was wondering if i left a small tray of veggies on his land area will he eat? from my understanding aquatic turtles eat in the water but i was wondering if they would take food off of land...i dont want to leave veggies in his water . i feed in a seperate container & was wondering if i had to throw veggies in there or if they could be left on land.....

They can't eat on land, but I know mine will grab crickets off of their land and drag it back into the water to eat. I don't know they would do the same for veggies. I always just toss the veggies in the water, they last a few days before they start to go bad, and I just remove anything not eaten.
