Hey all,
what kind of parental care do these guys show? I've heard they 'brood' their eggs, but have never heard a good description of this behavior....
thanks!

Hi Ben,
I also read about that, but didn't see any evidence of this. The female laid the egg and pretty much left it alone, or so it seemed. A few months after she laid the egg, I found it laying on top of the substrate and it was bone dry. I thought, "well, it must be dead," but I took a chance and incubated it, and it seemed viable (didn't grow mold and the shell showed some elasticity).
After about a month, the egg collapsed and grew mold, in other words it died. So I opened the egg to check and make sure there really was an embryo in there, and sure enough, there was a baby skink -- dead, of course. I was so disappointed. Hopefully, my pair will mate and lay more eggs, at least this time I will know to incubate as soon as I see an egg in the terrarium.
Hope this is useful!

I think brood means sit on them, incubate them, protect them etc...kill anything that comes near!!! or die trying
