seasoned breeders/probers - advice needed, please help

ok so i took my newly aquired snake that i "rescued" from a local pet store to the vet today because it finally pooped yesterday. well the vet checked her out and said everything looks good, she's 183 grams and is about 24inches long. she has ate for me twice since i got her two weeks ago and has put on considerable weight, she was really skiny when i got her. but so he probed her and she probed to 7-8 scales. i read online that females could go as much to 8, and males are normally 9+. so i was told she was a boy by the vet, which would be fine, i'm just curious if it's possible that she's a female with a big "love nest" or if she really is a boy. i followed the directions online to pop her/him, and held her/him right and did all the manuvers correctly and nothing came out, maybe i did it wrong, but i had a lot of pressure on her/him.

also i was told that she/he was worms, which i expected it to have since it wasn't in the best of conditions and she/he is going to be treated on thursday for them.

any help with this would be great!!

thanks in advance

Your vet was right, it's a male. Females usually probe to 3 or 4
depending on species.

...and I have probed upwards of several hundred BP's. In the vast majority of cases where a female has probed over 6 subcaudals on one side it has probed less deep on the other.

The worming is a good idea!

Good luck!
