Hurt mouse

khalliaar Jan 20, 2004 02:56 PM

My mouse isn't nessisarily 'hurt' but she has rubbed fur off of her face and I don't know why. Would this have been done out of stress or boredome? Its on one side of her face badly and on the other only a little. I will try to post a pic of it when I get home. Thanks to everyone for all the help you have given me.

a few things can cause this, one being stress. Too much protein can cause skin problems. External parasites can cause excessive scratching or grooming as well.

I would lower the protein content of her food for a week and see if that makes a difference.

There are many causes, most commonly mites, fleas or even ringworm. My best advice is take her to a veterinarian that has experience with rodents.
