Lump in male ribbon snake

SarahGrace Jan 20, 2004 03:28 PM

About a month ago two lumps appeared in my ribbon snake. A wide one (looks like a stone, it's almost circular) around his, um, hole(cloaca..I think), and a smaller, longer one about five inches closer to his head. What is it? I feed him live fish, so I'm afraid it might be a parasite of some kind. I can't change his diet though because he refuses to eat anything else. What should I do?

Are these lumps hard or soft?

They're not rock hard, but they're pretty firm. Also, Henrik is starting to become more lethargic...usually when i handle him he freaks out, but he just let me pick him up...i've had him for four years and that's never happened before.

It soundslike you need to take him to a vet soon. If you care about keeping him.
