Ok, is this strange behavior?

Ok, I have a hatchling male Mississippi Map Turtle that's a little bigger than a quarter. I have a 3 year Red-Eared Slider that is 3 times bigger. I put the RES in the Map's Tank( 20 qt. rubbermaid container) to see what they would do. They would get face to face and the RES would back off, this occured like 3 or 4 times in less than 5 minutes. Then they got face to face again and they started bobbing their heads at each other. I have never seen or heard of this before and I have been keeping turtles for as long as I can remember. Anyone wanna help me out and explain this to me?

I believe that just as in bearded dragons the head bob is a type of dominance thing. Its always funny to watch them "dance". As long as they arent really hurting eachother I wouldnt worry about it.
