Housing multiple males - Extremely bad idea
Housing Male and female - Once they reach breeding age, the female will get.... uhh mated on repeatedly, stressing her out
Housing a male and females - The male will probably get tired a lot trying to mate multiple times
Housing big guys and little guys - mmm babies

All of mine are housed individually from the time they hatch. It makes it easier to monitor their food intake, as well as minimizing stress, and I don't have to worry about injury caused by competition for food. Also, I have never had a problem getting the males to mate, as soon as I put the female into the males cage, they get right to it......
