I was just curious if anyone out there had any advice, insight, or knowledge as to how to started with a breeding business. Any advice would be so helpful.

Your question could take pages and pages and a very complex determingnation to figure out what exactly you want to know. With all of that I'll give you some of my 40 year plus see through:
Big money breeder/breeders:
always on top of the NEW craze of the market or what could be the new special reptile to keep.
have a lot of funds/money to shell out on breedable species or invest ( because that is what we do ) and hope for the best that the current market does not bottom out before we even breed the current or what is to be determined as the very next marketable animal.
be well known in the hobby by your name getting out there and or your presence known.
being halfway knowledgeble on genes and all that goes along with breeding.
knowing what cycles are all about to induce breeding and knowing how to sex animals correctly.
knowing most laws in this country as far as even having some reptiles in some states and having a course to sale them.
having possibly a mound of legal problems.
As a hobby breeder:
most of the same as above but not making as much money and knowing that you might make a so so return on your investment but probably not in the long run.
If not in the monetary part of it on your question:
that is a complete and probably even more complex problem.
