Learn everything you can about the animals you want to breed then start slowly, it is easy to get overwhelmed if you just go out and buy 50 snakes and try to start breeding. Pick an animal you truly enjoy. Balls may be the meal ticket lately, but if you prefer carpet pythons work with them. If you do not enjoy the animals you are working with they will probably suffer. Start with one(or two) pair of what you like, not what makes money. If they produce and you can sell healthy babies, build from there. Craig's post is right in saying if you buy 50 plus snakes you can be easily overwhelmed, but keep this in mind too-if you invest too much money starting and don't make it back, it's too easy to resent the animals. Start with a small amount of what you like anyway and build up-if the first 4-5 seasons go well you'll have more to work with and start building your name.
