i'm not sure if that the bloating could be caused by impaction. is your leo a male or female, could it be that your female is ovulatin??? i would take it to the vet asap. post a pic if you could to provide more details.

Hi

You should really get it to a vet. asap!.

What kind of substrate do you have it on now?, and if you just recently got it from a petstore, what kind of substrate did they have it on?.

Others will weigh in on this also to help you out.

Hi

One more thing, has she been with a male and is there any chance she could be pregnant?.

it looks like a male right(its too samll to tell for sure) now and its housed on a sand substitute.

leo_boy Jan 20, 2004 06:30 PM

oh yea and i hatched it out.

royalcrown69 Jan 20, 2004 06:35 PM

how old is the leo, take it off the sand asap, and put it on paper towels, try using a few drops of mineral oil on its drinkin water, if its impacted this could *not a garantee(sp)* help loosen its stomach.

leo_boy Jan 20, 2004 06:39 PM

would it be ok if i just put the mineral water straight(sp) into the leos mouth because its housed with other leos and i dont want it to give the other ones diareah(sp).

also

I have heard a lil mineral oil helps but also heard to be careful and not to give it alot.

Take her to the vet.

Why are people obsessed with sand... it isn't good for them...

There should be a thread around here on administring medicine, you could use that to give the oil to him directly. Or you could just seperate them and put it in the water like the other guy said.

leo_boy Jan 20, 2004 06:56 PM

i just gave him some mineral oil directly using an extreamly samll sieringe(sp) that i have. ill update everyone tomorrow.

There is a reason that people use sand and its not because they're obsessed with it. I had my leo on sand for the first week. Its because petshops recommend sand and practically force you to buy it when you buy your leo from a petshop. Of course only a beginner would fall for this, especially since most caresheets on the internet say sand it ok. As soon as i found out, i took mine off sand. But this is one reason that alot of people are using sand.
