Hey, me again, i was wondering about a feeding question?>

burmking7653 Jan 20, 2004 08:29 PM

Ok as I said before my burm is 27" long and 3/4" wide. So far 1 medium mouse a week has been fed. Should I do it more often? Also once he is About 3 feet can i feed gerbils until i think hes ready for small rats? So basically i'd just use the gerbils as a temporary middle item before switching to rats? thanks,
mike

Mike-

You might want to consider completely avoiding gerbils. I have heard many stories (never personally experienced it) from reputable people stating that they started feeding their snakes gerbils, but when they went to switch them to rats they had a VERY hard time (sometimes impossible) actually making the switch. Imagine having to go to the pet store to purchase $5 gerbils once a week that are disease and parasite filled--not a fun time in my opinion. Stick with jumbo mice or weanling/small rats or any combination of the two and it will be able to take down small/medium rats in no time. You can purchase frozen rodents online in a number of locations...
