I have a water dragon who has a few problems. He/she is about 4" nose to base of tail.
He will only eat super worms. He doesn't touch crickets or pinkies or any fruit or vegies that I have tried, although he will eat apple if I hold it right infront of his mouth and then put it in his mouth when he opens it. What else should he be eating and how can I get him to eat different things?
He also has some problems shedding, he always seem to have dead skin stuck to him. I thought that this could be because of his unbalanced diet. He has a large water container that he sometimes swims in and the humidity is usually between 60 and 80. He has UV lights and is warm enough. I bought some stuff called shed-ease and soaked him in it today according to the instructions on the box, but it doesn't seem to have helped at all. It says to only use it once a week, so I'll keep doing that and see if he improves at all. I'm worried that he isn't growing enough though because he is still very small and I've had him around 6 months and he doesn't seem to have grown much.
Any ideas on what I can do? I will take him to a vet, but only as a last resort because the nearest herp vet is at least an hour drive away and I can't really afford it, but I will if I have to.
Thanks
Ellie
