I don't use rubbermaids ( I use glass tanks), but I use and highly recommend Virosan (aka Nolvasan). It's a great disinfectant. The product works great and is safe for reptiles. During weekly cleanings I just spray down the inside of the tank and wipe. I also spray and wipe my snakes water dishes with this. Once a month I actually clean the tank w/ hot soapy water, rinse, spray with Virosan/Nolvasan, rinse and dry.
I use as a disinfectant on all the deco, etc also.

i do an actual cleaning round once a month too. i fill my tub with scolding hot water & soap & scrub everything with a heavy duty scrub brush. but the rest of the month just switch the newspaper & spray down rubbermaind & all personal effects (log, hide box, water bowl, etc.) with a chemical spray that i pick up at the ny metro reptile show...i dont know if it's as good as virosan but it seems to work for me. but i have heard virosan is real good...you can get it @ www.proexotics.com & other places i'm sure but that's the one site i know that has it.
