Amazon Basin Redtail??

cnidaria Jan 21, 2004 03:14 AM

Hi all-

I am thinking of picking one of these up from a local reptile shop. How are they in terms of care realative to other BCC? Anything quirky about them? Are they actually as rare as they are implied, or are they just a fad locale at this time? I have heard they are getting tough to get? Please let me know.

thanks,
Brian

Joe-

Thanks for the info! I decided to get him today, and he is beautiful! I will give him a few days to calm down, and then take some pics! His tail is classic, not abbarent at all, which is kinda neat (though I do like weird tails). He seems to have a good temperment so far! He is about 30" or so, 7-10 months old and probably a bit fatter around that a silver dollar! Anyway, I have kept suris briefly, and I assume he is like any other BCC. I am usually not a boa guy, having kept more types of pythons than I can count, but this guy grabbed me, and was the last one. Got him for $300, which I thought was a great price! I will add pics in the next day or so.

take care,
Brian
