"Luecistic"

Beardie_Matt Jan 21, 2004 06:00 AM

I have seen that Dragons Dens"Luecistics" can grow as big or bigger than GGs. My question is this the same with other "Luecistic" bloodlines.
Thanks,
Matt

P.S- If you are going to say that Luecistics don't exist than don't respond, you will notice the quotes on the word Luecistic

Many lines had German Giants introduced to them through the years to increase strength, size, clutch size. Many different names are given to these dragons these days, so basically many morphs have the size potential that German giants do. I have a dragon that does not have German giant in the name, but I know in the past German giants where used to increase the hardiness of the line and he holds many characteristics that the German giants do including the large size, head shape, and stocky but longer body build. I also have a female smaller then him and she is a red/gold German Giant. If you want the potential for large sized dragons look at the parents, and feed and care for you dragon properly. Dragons Den is one of the breeders that over the years bred and received German giants. I'm sure many of their lines including the "luecistics" he sells have the size potential from being outcrossed to them in the past, but no longer are called German giants or German giant luecistics.

All dragons in the US that are labeled "leusistic" originated from Dragons Den I believe. (at least all of the ones I know about have) So, yes it's possible they would have that large size depending on what line they were crossed with. Some could be larger and some smaller if crossed with a smaller sized bloodline.

Mark Leshock was the first one to import leucistics about 4 years ago. From what I understand, Kevin and Mark purchased them from the same guy overseas. I saw Mark's adults about 3 years ago, and they were of average size. Maybe the guy who had them overseas had to outcross them and Kevin got the bigger line??
