The 17th Working Meeting of the IUCN-SSC Crocodile Specialist Group will take place from 24-29 May 2004 in Darwin, Northern Territory of Australia. More information on the venue and the program can be found at http://wmi.com.au/csg17
All interested participants are now invited to submit papers for inclusion in the 17th Working Meeting program. Both spoken presentations and posters are welcome. Instructions to authors are available for both spoken presentations and posters.
Authors should refer to the session titles in the current program overview for guidelines on general topics for papers. We will consider any paper on crocodilians, and the program is still undergoing change, although preference will be given to papers that most closely follow the draft program (see website) and the theme of the meeting "Advancing CSG Core Business" (ie. advancing crocodilian conservation).
The deadline for submissions is 1 March 2004. Abstracts for the program booklet must be sent to Adam Britton (abritton@ wmi.com.au) no later than 13 May 2004. Final manuscripts for the proceedings must be received in electronic or hard copy no later than 29 May 2004. The organising committee understands that late submissions are often unavoidable, and every effort will be made to consider papers submitted after 1 March 2004 but if necessary, preference will be on a first-come-first-served basis.
Anyone interested in attending who has not yet registered can find registration application forms here, or by writing to Charlie Manolis (cmanolis@ wmi.com.au). Applications can be returned to Wildlife Management International by mail (PO Box 530, Sanderson, NT 0813, Australia), e-mail, fax [61 (0)8 8947 0678] or through the secure online server. Payment may be made at the time of registration, or deferred until shortly before the meeting.
Further information can be found on the website, including a variety of accommodation options, details on field trips, and local information about the meeting venue. Questions regarding any aspect of the meeting should be sent to Tom Dacey (tom.dacey@ epa.qld.gov.au).
