Hypos??? Okeetees?? I don't know...

artfan1 Jan 21, 2004 11:26 AM

I have trouble figuring out the genetics behind "hypo". Then, throw Okeetee into the mix and I get all confused. I thought maybe someone here could help me out.

I bought this female, "hypo okeetee" at a show. The guy I bought it from, didn't raise it of course to the lineage is in question.

And this male, which was sold to me as a "borderless Okeetee".

Here is the females belly. (The male has almost the same markings and color on his belly)

What do you all think? Would it make a good pair? Wonder what I would get. Of course, nobody knows for sure on that because who knows what these two are het for. Just thought I would get some opinions.

Are they even "hypo", and are they "okeetee"?????

Thanks,
Troy

Well
The female looks like a hypo okeetee, and the male looks kind of like Kathy Love's sunglow albino.
That being said, however doesnt mean they are. If the guy didnt hatch them and didnt have any idea on the lineage, they could be just about anything. Could be het for lots of stuff, and more than likely they are someones "experiment". But either way they are some nice looking snakes for sure! Maybe someone else can take a stab at their identities.

Like hotshot said they could be anything.I think I would have to breed those guys to see what comes out. I bet they would make some awesome babies.
