randyrhoads Jan 21, 2004 12:26 PM

i filled a 75 gal fish tank half full of water and put a big stick in it. so i put him in there and he pins his noses on the glass and swims endlessly until he gets tired and turns frozen, then i have to get him out. o and i bought a day/ night bulb, since i got that he eats like 3 times more.

If I didnt take care of him, I wouldnt bother to get him some water at all.

if you cared for your igg you would have first gottenh ima new uvb light when your old one burned out. second not fed him "CHUNKY" soup you would have had him on the right diet. and if i remember right he was able to get heat from a radiator and a hot rock?(i may be wrong about the last part) but still if you cared about your pet you would have done a little research.

When I bathe Marley he reacts pretty much the same way except I wouldn't call it frozen, he relaxes and falls asleep. And when I take him out he is calm and relaxed but glad to see me.
But... I have to ask, how warm is the water? If it's cold then that's freaking him out. How deep is it? Should be shoulder height I've been told. Too deep and he is freaking! And have you showed him the stick? Put his front legs up on it til the little bulb in his head goes off? He might also be freaked out by the glass, some iggies don't seem to get the concept and figure they should be able to go right thru it. Try the tub with less water and nice and warm.

if the water is in the tank all the time it is too cold. he is lethargic from being cold and he will drown! And if it is 75 gallons worth its too deep for it to be nothing but cold water. try him in the tub with lukewarm water and see how he reacts and just to his shoulders
