anyone know where i can get a blue tegu?

Zeus Jun 06, 2003 12:13 PM

i have an add in the classifieds and have had a couple of responses but so far it hasnt worked out. i have wanted a tegu for a long time but due to size i wasnt able to accamodate(sp) one. after doing TONS of research i came to the realization that blues dont get as big as say reds or b&W's. besides i like the looks of blues much better anyways. would appreciate any input. thanks

There was an ad for a male het on kingsnake I believe for $600, but it sounded like it needed some work on taming it. We have a 66% blue het male juvie (pics are below a bit), that is suppose to be sold, but if the money is not sent today or tomorrow it would become available again. As you ca nshe he has a regrown tail and a lazy left eye, but is tame and still a beauty and carries the albino gene.

My best wishes!!!

Hi Zeus!:0) That one for $600 on the ad....wow was a pretty penny and not too tame according to the ad. The blue we had just sold and she came through with the funds. We sold him for $235 shipped and will ship him out Tuesday. He is a sweetie, just has that regrown tail and lazy left eye. Wit hhis albino gene pool he may produce some real nice babies if she does choose to breed him.

Take real good Care!!!!

Hi Zeus,
I just got off the phone with Stella (St.Pierre) You're correct, the eggs have been laid. 90 incubation period. A hatchling is most recommended. Handle every day and fear not! Better to start with a single animal, if more are desired, wait until next season. Two at once might not be too bad... I'm not an expert, but I did buy 18 hatchlings in the Summer of 2001. 2.4 Tupinambis teguixin sp, 2.4 Tupinambis merianae and 1.2 Tupinambis rufescens. I wish now I hadn't taken on so many... In fact if you thought you might like a pair of Merianae for very little money, I could help.

Good Luck,
tegu

Check the kingsnake.com adoption. There was a discussion a while back on this forum and I believe Mid Michigan Reptile Rescue will have a blue soon. Good luck with your search.

Try Regal Reptile in Rhode Island. They have a young adult female that is beautiful and tame. You can link to the web site through Kingsnakes Dealer list. Good luck!
