Sounds like he was trying to eat you... you didn't marinate yourself today, did you?

"The serpent crams itself with animal life that is often warm and vibrant, to prolong an existence in which we detect no joy and no emotion. It reveals the depth to which evolution can sink when it takes the downward path and strips animals to the irreducible minimum able to perpetuate a predatory life in its naked horror."

I know it may sound strange, but it's almost like when the snake changes moods it changes its identity too. Like when it's calm it just crawls around or just sits there, but when youd o something to scare it he will get in that S curve and i don't know what it is, but it just seems like a different snake to me. Has anybody else thought that, or am I just weird?

yeah, once that tail gets going, i know hes about to freak out. today was the first time he tried to bite. pretty funny, though i imagine a six footer would be pretty intimidating..
That's the thing about most colubrids... you get nailed, you even get chewed for a few minutes... and you can't even say 'hunny, can you make dinner, i got bitten by that snake'. They just laugh at you. Then you remember you wouldn't want to eat their dinner anyway.

Terrific photo! That face means business. Name him "Ritalin". My cali does it on and off, but it's all bluff, no bite. I have a photo of him acting up, but it lacks the full bravado of your chap.
Hey nice snake! Looks exactly like my little female that I picked up from Ken Krysko last year when I went to visit him. Only difference is my little female is very friendly (and eats like there's no tomorrow)! Could yours be from the same stock? Just wondering
Take care,
Zee

im pretty sure your snake is an eastern, and a beauty at that! mine is just a floridana, i wish it were an eastern like yours. my snake is cool though and definatly has some fire inside. better than some boring snake that just sits there. again, nice getula you have there!!
both in looks and attitude. You did get yours at an uncle bills by any chance did you? Maybe our two are litter mates...
