begging for a finger

That might be territorial behavior, I know what bearded dragons "wave" their arms in circular motion to show domination, I've seen this before with mine, but I'm not so sure with Tegus...

Good Luck!

P.S. I'm still trying to get you that information that you asked for about that vet, I actually lost his contact info and am trying to locate it for myself as one of my snakes that was given to me has mouth rot. I will forward the info when I find it.

No, actually when they wave its a sign of submissiveness. Head bobbing is to show dominance. Tegus huff, whip their tails and arch their backs to show dominance.

if i touch the base of my tegu's tail he lifts up his ass really high and i dont think he likes it, any idea what the significance of that is, maybe a mating thing idunno. It's a male if that matters.

I have never seen that but is sounds like back arching. They lift up in order to appear more threatening. Does he huff or whip his tail when he does this ? Does he only do it when you touch him?

Just my opinion

naw hes not doin the arch thing, he stood straight up on his back two legs (like a bear does). he didnt make no sounds either when he did it or whip his tail (he was just looking at my red and then was licking him). when i go to pick him up he has never tried whipping me and hes only hissed one time (when i first got him).

yea mine wont even move if i touch his tail (hes pretty lazy, thats why this freaked me out), i guess also cause i was told playing with their tail (like a petting) would strengthen it so ive been doin it since day one. the only times he'll ever move is to me for food and to go dump or when he wonders around the house.
