back from NJ...

eric adrignola Jan 21, 2004 03:34 PM

I noticed I missed a bunch of interesting posts & questions.
I really don't fully appreciate how happy I am down here until I go BACK to NJ. I miss my friends and relatives, but God does NJ stink.

Oh, and the panthers going to the superbowl helps too.

Ha.

I live in NJ...you guys justy buy into the stereotype of NJ go to northern NJ or near the PA border...beutiful country...delaware water gap area is really nice...i have a lake house up in Northern NJ and the area is terrific

Well, the stereotype of NJ is there because nobody can AFFORD to go to the rest! All they do is drive through the turnpike.

And for half the turnpike, there are no cities. All anyone ever remembers is when they drive through elizabeth, Newark and the NY/NJ metropolitan area, poison dirt and bad air.

If you drive a little bit to the SE or NW, you'll find FARMS, and some of the most beautiful areas in the world. It is sickeningly expensive though...

My uncle lives in Oakland, and it's nice, really nice, but it costs about half a mil to get something nice in a nice area.

It's that area in the intro to the Sopranos that people think of. The NJ turnpike is NOT indicative of NJ itself.

When i was a kid, i lived in Sussex County, which is about, if i remember right, an hour from DWG. Very nice area, though the schools werent the greatest. The hills and trees were very nice though, very different from dallas, where i am now.

I didnt like living in new jersey and was happy to get out of there, but you have ot remember, when i left i was about to be 12. There are some nice parts.

*hugs*

the garden state parkway used to charge $.35 every toll--and a toll every 50 feet is not too far off...

This was in 96, when I left. God knows how much it is now.

Dr_octagon Jan 23, 2004 05:47 PM

thats why i have EZPASS....i dont even know how much the parkway is anymore..i think its still 35
