have you had problems with vanilla in auto water systems?

DenverTom Jan 21, 2004 05:23 PM

I had everything running well for a couple of years. I started using vanilla to help with the stink. A few weeks ago, the screen in the adaptor that hooks up to the bucket was clogged up terribly with what was obviously vanilla slime. Last night, same thing but it was in the screen and in one of the t connectors further down the line. Is it common for vanilla to clog these systems up or what?

thanks for your input
Tom

It gets my water bottles all gunky too. I have heard you can also try vinegar (1 tablespoon per gallon) and that should also break down urine before it turns to amonia.

I have a friend who swears by Grapefruit Seed extract. He says it helps with both urine and mouse musk smells. I haven't gotten a chance to try it yet because I need to get the dilution ratio from him. BTW - He says it's also good for their digestion.
