Need pics of Veileds and cages...

davidjames Jan 21, 2004 06:47 PM

I'm putting together a little veiled chameleon website. I wanted some personal pictures of some veiled chameleons and some cages, homemade or purchased. If you wanted to email them to me, please send them to veiledcare@yahoo.com

Any age or size veileds are fine. If you could please include their name, the owners name, their size and age, and the enclouser dimensions. If you want to you can include the types of plants you use and different watering and lighting setups.

I will only use these photos to post on the website and I will not degrade or pass judgement on the owner for their setup or chameleons care.

Once the site is up I will email the link to you first so you can let me know if I was wrong in any way with your photo.

Please take this opportunity to show off your pride and joy.

Thanks, DavidJames

I also need as many GOOD, HONEST, and TRUE veiled chameleon website links to add to the site. If you have your own this is another opportunity to show you and your chameleon off.

my email is veiledcare@yahoo.com

Thanks, DavidJames

Hi,

Here is a pic of the cage we built for Frasier, our 4-year-old male veiled chameleon. Half of the cage was made with salvage materials, so the cost of the entire cage came out to about $40. It was built out of pine and aluminum screen. It is 48" long, 48" high, 18" deep and is set on a stand that is 24" high.

We used some tiny dried branches and sisal rope to create vines. The plants we used are golden pothos, ficus benjamina and chinese evergreen. He makes use of every square inch of his cage. Oh yeah, we use a 100 Watt Zoo Med basking bulb and a Reptisun. And last but not least, the cage is equipped with a Rainmaker Junior system and two nozzles. We set the misting cycles to three 1-minute cycles and one 2-minute cycle, just enough to give Frasier enough drinking water, keep the humidity up and keep the plants happy.

I'm also including a pic of me (Julie) with Frasier. He always attracts a big crowd and everyone Ooohs and Aaaahs over him. I think he really enjoys the attention... LOL

Hope these are useful!

Julie, Justin and Frasier.
