Anyone have AFT's??? got a ?

RedQuake Jan 21, 2004 07:37 PM

I'm just wondering since i know that AFT's require more humidity than leos, how do you get and maintain that humidity?

Do you just provide a larger humid hide? Or do you use a substrate that holds more humidity? I'm asking cause i really would like to get one but i'm still stumped on how to provide them with more humidity. I would like to get a juvi striped male and i know loose substrates is bad.....

Thanks for any input

All I do is use a ziplock disposable container with moist paper towel. Holds humidity very well and they love it.

You would need to mist the tank daily (or more than that, 3 times a day). I do this anyway for my leo since it's so dry here in Michigan during the winter.

Thankyou. So is it ok to use tile for substrate and just provide a large humid hide and mist the tank?

Thanks again

I throw a towel over the part that doesn't have a lamp on it, for my frogs. It has helped a LOT.
