Big Boa competition (more...)

H+E Stoeckl Jan 21, 2004 07:37 PM

Instead of ranting about crossbreeds, today I want to spoil you with the photo of a real Big Boa.

The animal was born in 1997. She is weighing 63 pound. The owner is Stefan Strebl, a friend of mine who live 15 miles from my home. Since I am writing an article about the length of boas I asked him to take a photo of her. And here it is...

Why is she so huge? Because the only way to cope with her is to keep her full. Otherwise she is very ill-tempered.

How long is she? Hmmm... it is difficult to measure her. Just estimate it on the photo. My friend is a little more than 6 ft.

Hope you like the photo.

And now the competition runs:
Post photos who beat this animal! The winner gets a permit for smoking in a One Way Street.

I have posted this female before in the past. She is over 10ft and weighed 72 pounds last year when last weighed.

Enjoy,
Mike

Hermann,
. This is a very good post and idea for a contest. The link is to the MacCarthy Boas BIG Boa Page. I like big Boas and this page has a bunch of them.

Hi Hermann,

She is ONE BIG BCI. I would say she is around 9 1/2 to 10 feet long.
Also can I add this picture to my Big Snake page? I will give you and Stefan Strebl credit for the use of the picture.

Thanks
Tom McCarthy

This is an august 00 boa that is growing quite well, she is a bit over 8' and has not eaten since Oct 1st (virgin, hoping to change that this year} weighs in at 33 lbs. again no contest winner, but give her a couple years. Lets see some other big ones!!

She's the one that came in a few months ago with rolls of fat... she's lost some weight, but is still the biggest boa I've ever seen in person. Too bad the pic doesn't really show well. She's at least 10' - she's in a cage that is 7' x 4', and she can wrap around two sides of it against the bottom. She's not pretty colored, but has great iridescence.
