Please join informal study on hatch order

Kayvon Jan 21, 2004 09:18 PM

I have noted in my collection that in het to het breedings the homo hatchlings come out of the eggs last. This has been evident most of all in the striped pattern morphs. This year I am going to collect, as precisely as possible, data on pip times, out of egg times, and morph type.
Has anyone else had a similar observation?
If you would like to add to my data set let me know. It will only work on clutches with different morphs in the same clutch.

Interesting study, I don't have any het to het breeding planned until 2005 probably, but it will be interesting to see if maybe the "homo's" (snicker) aren't as quick to hatch as hets.

Can't say I recall any het to het results, but in het to homo breedings, the hets and homozygous ones tend to hatch out interspersed. No real correlation between early hatchers and whether they're het or homozygous.
