10 gallon last for a baby? I really want a corn snake, since they have really interesting colorations, yet I am a bit tight on the cash at the moment. If it is a pretty short period, any reccomendations on other good snakes for a beginner would be appreciated

A 10 gallon would last 1-2 years depending on how vigorously you feed your corn. If you another beginner snake that needs a little less room, check out Rosy Boas.

1 to 2 years... That is great, I will have moved out by then :P Ill be sure to check out those rosas as well as 10s aren't bad.

What all will I need? What should I feed youngins?

I'm using a 10 gallon right now, and it seems to be working very well for my 4 month old amel. i painted the back (outside) with acrylic paint (a nice jungle theme) so that it didn't seem to open, and added some nice branches and paper towel tubes strategically placed to give him some hides, as well as the ever popular upsidedown half-coconut you can get at all the pet stores. i think its plenty big for at least a year. once i decide to get more (which won't be long i'm sure), i'm going to invest in some larger tanks, but for a young corn i'd say it'd do just fine.

I believe that almost everyone on this forum will say that is is imperative to get a book on corn snakes before you actually buy one. There are two books readily available: "Corn Snakes" by the Bartlett's and "The Corn Snake Manual" by Kathy Love. I've got both and would highly recommend the one by the Love's.

But in the meantime, there are some actual pictures of good enclosures not too far down the forum, and all the discussion you will ever need on feeding. There are also dozens of care sheets available on the web.

Good luck. And be forewarned thet this hobby is very addicting.
