I've been doing a lot of reading about different snakes "enjoying" leaves to crawl on and under. I'd be worried about normal tree leaves having some sort of insects that might be hazardous or the leaves themselves being poisonous somehow. Is there a way to treat the leaves? I know this sounds weird
