How long would a 10 gallon last...

paradisio Jan 22, 2004 12:09 AM

For a young guy?

This was my second consideration on snake next to corns for my first snake. Just wondering, thanks!

Some start out with a 10, but since you have to go bigger eventually (I believe they grow 2-3 feet the first year) I say why not just start out bigger. Just start out with the cage you plan to let them grow up in and add plenty of hides for security.

Sorry just can't afford larger tanks right now

you think of starting with a rubbermaid - it's cheaper. I suggest this because with tanks you usually end up having problems maintaining the correct temps and/or humidity requirements. It's fixable, but often times results in having to spend more money to fix. Just a suggestion. I'm not really sure how long a BP could stay in a 10 gallon. Really depends on what size the snake is to start with.
