Coloration question and some pics for fun

chikimonke Jan 22, 2004 12:14 AM

Ok, so I know I posted these pics a little while ago, but they kinda got burried pretty quickly, and I don't think everyone got ample time to enjoy them. Also, I have a question about Jak's coloration. In a couple of the pics below, you can see orange creeping in on her. most noticeably is around the black spots. The side shot of her head in the humid hide you can see some of said spots. Also on her back it looks like an orange circle could be forming. She is/was a circle back as a baby, might she be developing orange circles? Just curious, thanks.

These first three you can see that orange circle forming on her back, or atleast what looks like it could develope into that.

This one is the side shot I mentioned before. The group of spots just behind her head, you can see an orange outline to them.

And I just like this pic, Jak got curious when I put the camera in her tank, had to come out to explore. Big ol' smile she's got =)

I doubt she will get tang circles...... Se is a beautiful gecko though...... It is nice when some orange comes out on them out of nowhere...... Hey if she does become a tang circle back, you just found a new morph, but if not, you just have a very pretty leo.....

Actually, I want to say that I've seen a leo recently that could be called a "tang circle back", but either way it would be cool. I'm just very impressed with what she turned into. I got her from Petco, you can see her baby pick in my other response. Also, I know she isn't considered Hypo, but would she atleast be considered sonething like "reduced spotting"? I like how she has the three groups of spots down the middle of her back and then the two stripes of spots along her sides. Turned into an interesting pattern.

It's funny that you say that you like her head markings, that tends to be the first comment most other leo owners give me. =) Actually, she is a Petco gecko. I got her back in September. She seems to be nice and healthy, so I think I got lucky this time. But I will not be buying anymore geckos from there, I've been back there many times for mealies and such and am now appalled at the living conditions and the conditions of their animals. This is what she looked like when I first brought her home, quite a change. She looks so different now.

I would say she is very close to being a hypo.... Not quite though...... A hypo will have 10 spots or less...... She is a very reduced pattern.....
