Hybernation

Can anyone tell me if and when corn snakes hybernate and if there is a certain age when they start ect and what if any measures have to be taken.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

No measures have to be taken. Especially if you are not getting your snakes ready for breeding. Even then, it's not an absolute rule of thumb by any means. If you are keeping your snakes at proper temps and they are eating, etc, all is well. Even if they cut back on meals during the winter, that's fairly common also. If one of your snakes goes on an extended winter hunger strike despite proper temps, then a little cooling may bring it back around. But you really don't need to worry about it in general. Hope that helps a little. My black rat went for 2 months this fall without eating, so I put him in the (cold dark) basement for a few weeks. When I brought him back up, he got back on schedule. Some people say that brumating is not necessary but I think it actually keeps your adults healthier by giving them a natural break where they can rest their systems. The break you personally get in feeding a large collection also provides time to refocus your own priorities and projects etc.
