I am SOOO excited. Yesterday and today, I had the first eggs from my hypotangerine carrottail (20-25%) female hatch, fathered by my hypotangerine carrotail (15-20%) albino male. I expected to get some nice hypotangerine geckos, maybe with some carrottail, that would be het for albino. When yesterday's gecko hatched, I was a little disappointed, the gecko did not look anywhere near as orange as I expected and looked pretty normal. But when I looked in the imcubator this morning, and saw that today's gecko hatched, I was ecstatic...apparently, my hypotangerine girl is ALREADY HET for albinism!!!!! This baby will be a beaut!
I am hoping that since the mother was not that orange as a juvvy, but aranged-uyp and went superhypo, that these two will also get oranger and hypo up as they age. The patterning on the albino suggests to me she will go hypo or superhypo, I find the ones with the aberrant pattern as babies often do. If I am very lucky, she could go superhypo tangerine carrottail.
I've had a pretty crappy year breeding until today...multiple eggs infertile afer a fertile clutch, including the last set from the mother of these two- I put her in with the male again of course. But this helps make up for it!!!
