How often do you run into a infertile male or female, mouse or rat

mrbfrog Jan 22, 2004 01:59 PM

I am pretty sure that I have a female that is not produceing, and I am just wondering how often this happens to others out there.

Thanks

The only mom that didn't produce, turned out to be a dad. Boy did I feel dumb! LOL

If she is a she rat and not producing, feed her off and replace her.

I had one female mouse that was in a group with a male and 3 other females and she never became pregnant. She was a wonderful "Nanny" to the babies that the other females produced though, so I let her continue in that job until she died of old age. I've had quite a few males that were "duds".
