If done properly and following all the regulations, yes, there are problems. Most of them exist in the "possible" delays in customs. Nothing is definite, but no one wants an animal dieing due to a custom's delay.

I have had dragons shipped to Canada (I’m from Ottawa) before but it is quite costly. With the duty, different holding fees, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife inspections and international shipping cost, it’s really not cost affective. Depending on the type of dragon and how many you plan on importing, the shipping can cost twice as much as your dragons.

Also there are a few breeders in Canada that have all different dragons morphs available. Shipping in Canada is quite inexpensive. (Not as cheep as UPS in the U.S. however) And even winter shipping is quite possible with Air Canada Cargo same day service.

I have recently become the Canadian sales rep for Rob and Vickie Dachiu of Bearded Dragons And Other Creatures. They are one of the worlds top dragon breeders. I have dragons available now. I will also have their dragons available at the Toronto reptile show Feb 22nd.

I hope this helps you out and I hope your “daughter” get the dragon she’s looking for. =)

Thanks for the input. Sounds like shipping to Canada is possible but its kinda a pain in the butt. However,,,, I'm in Kingston (well, close enough) which is only about 1.5 hrs away from Ottawa (as you probably know). Maybe in the springtime I'll have figured out where to put the other cage for my 'daughters' beardie.... I may just ask for one for Mothers Day instead!! Do you have a website for your place in Ottawa?? Thanks again for the info. L.
