Has anyone tried MH lighting in dart terrariums? Or is this too much?

If so, any temperature related problems, or terrarium overheating?

Thanks.

Thanks,

I am currently experimenting with them on my newly set up tanks. I don't belive that it would be too much for a larger vivarium. I really wouldn't consider one for a tank shorter than 24" tall. the heat is a factor, I have a 175w 5500k coralife, and a 70 watt Iwasaki 6500k setup. Even the 70 watt needs to be at least 6" above the tank top to prevent the temp from going over the high 80's. I really cant decide yet whether or not to use them once I have animals in the tank, Ive tried a few high color rendering bulbs, and they all have a slight monochrome appearance to them compared to top of the line flourescents and compact flourescents. I like their point source quality though, and am considering using the 70w Iwasaki for a basking light for my day geckos. The MH really seem to jump start a new tank, and bring out great colors in bromeliads and tillandsias.
