MsJEilers Jan 22, 2004 07:44 PM

Hey everyone! I have a problem and was wondering if anyone has experienced what I am now going through. There is blood (fresh-bright red) in my beardies urates. What does this mean? Has anyone had this problem? Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!

Well I dont know what it is but you need to take your beardie to the vet.Anytime there is blood in urine its usually something that needs a vet.

I agree, get the beardie to a vet. From what I've heard this could be parasites, for instance. Whatever it is, it needs the attention of a vet, and probably some kind of medication.

First of all, what does his diet consist of? When I feed my beardie the dry pellets, (of which he only eats the green ones) his BM's come out BRIGHT green. If you are feeding him pellets that are red, I could imagion that you are experiencing the same problem. Furthermore, with my experience with various species of tropical geckos, when feeding them babyfoods, some of them cause the geckos BM's to un-natural colors.

If none of this applies to you, then I would agree that you take your pet to a qualified herp vet. Hope all goes well.

Thanks for the input. I am positive that it is blood. I am taking him to the vet and I will let you know what happens. Thanks again!
