Handmade cage

RAecroft Jan 22, 2004 08:31 PM

I have a question about handmade cages, when you have a frame built what is a good see-through material to put on the edges that crx won't be able to get through. I would like to make a cage for my veiled since I don't want to deal withthe sipper on a reaptarium but want a nice big cage for a fair price.

Screening (not the fiberglass type).

I used to have my Jackson's in a big (4' X 2' X 2'H) hand-made cage, but no matter how hard I tried to reconstruct/improve it, crickets still got escaped, I just didn't know how they did it and from where.

If you want the best view, in my opinion -- just mine -- train them to eat from a cup. Now my Jackson's all get insects from cups, and I even moved 2 females to my living room without caging them. They have picked their favorite spots and stay there.
