Nolvasan dilution ratio?

BigFil Jan 22, 2004 08:53 PM

Can anyone tell me what dilution ration of Nolvasan to water ratio they use for daily cleaning/disinfection of cages that their dragons are in. I've heard 30:1 or 20:1 for bathing them in, but would you want it stronger for cage cleaning? Also at what ratio would you not want to go over that would be unsafe?

Dr Mader in his Reptile Medicine and Surgery states 20:1 to 30:1.

For general cleaning we use 30:1 and for soaking dragons with infections and fungus diseases we use a soak of 20:1. With serious infections and fungus infections you are dealing with a mass of bacteria and fungal cells in a small compact area so yes, you would want it stronger, but they are in it a short time and then rinsed.

For mouth rot or stomactitis the recommended dilution I have seen is 20:1, again, the thinking being you are dealing with a mass amount of nasty bacteria in a small area.
