Cuttlebone/fish as calcium source?

jay111 Jan 23, 2004 01:27 AM

I was told recently that i could gring up cuttle, like the little treat for parakeets, and that it could be substituted for calcium powder, which is i guess essentially all it is anyways. does anyone know if this is true and if it could harm my new argus?

some of that Corona in the back ground and he'll be happy!!!LOL

Instead of cuttlebone I would suggest using rep-cal. It has calcium, and vitamin D-3 in it. It's very cheap, like $5 a jar. Iuse it for my Dumeril monitors shrimp and crickets.
Hope this helps.

I add essential probiotics to all of my monitors and the beardies food. I dont use calcium supplements with my albigs except the probiotics (once every couple of months). The mice, rats, and chickens have enough calcium and vit D3 for them. My ackie and the beardie get them on their insects and the beardies veggies.
