Check out this URL for tank sizes.

20 gal. long 30 1/4 x 12 1/2 x 12 3/4

An adult snake measuring 45 inches could be keep in a 20 gallon long enclosure. Using the 2/3 rule for length assuming the length of the tank to be 30 inches. However, I've read many posts referring to a 30 gallon tank as better. These are for aquarium sizes. I've never heard of rubbermaid referred to as 20 gal. long. If you can get a rubbermaid of the same dimensions then, ok.
